Seeing all the discourse online about the WT Originals contracts really pushes me even further away from wanting to ever give my comic up to a company.
We've all known WT is scummy as fuck for years but it seems like it just keeps getting worse and worse. They can't keep themselves afloat, especially with a lot of their major titles leaving/ending soon. Interesting to see what is to come in the future. Genuinely, I miss Smackjeeves and I hate how that site sold out and tried to make itself into a scroll-format site like WT/Tapas. Smackjeeves was unique, interesting and for everyone. I really hate the corporate nature of pretty much EVERYTHING now. Everything is for profit, at the expense of creators. It's depressing and I find it harder and harder to keep a positive outlook on things when shit looks so bleak. (Even outside the creator space...life sucks lol).
But I'm glad there are still Classic sites out there, like ComicFury. (Which I have thought about using myself). Neocities here has been pretty great with setting up my own site for my comic, especially with the help of Rarebit. I just have to figure out the mobile setups to make my site look great on mobile too. It's a learning curve. I miss the old internet days of deviantART before the nft and ai bullshit. I miss forums. Internet feels less like "community" and more like "influencer" "content creator" "how to make the most money possible online". We all need money and I'm not knocking anyone for doing this, but the mindset feels selfish.

I'm keeping my vents seperate from my thoughts as I usually have a doomer mindset when I vent. I get extremely nihilistic and I prefer to keep it seperate from my normal human thoughts.
